Kitchener -- Saturday, March 27, saw the Pakmen 13U Girls team travel
to Kitchener to compete in a U14 tournament. Up for the challenge the
girls had a very successful day. As a tune up for the Ontario
Championships in a few weeks, the team played everyone in shifts and
used a 6-6 system. The girls went 5-1 in pool play to finish first.
They won their quarter-final match against another U13 team that has
played U14 all year. In the semi final the girls pushed the Etobicoke
Wildcats in the first set only to lose. In the bronze the girls lost
to a strong U14 team that just narrowly missed the gold medal match. A
seeding tournament for the U14 made this a well fought, high level
tournament. Finishing a solid 4th was an outstanding finish as we get
ready for our Ontario Championships.
