Who is the program for?
This program is for gifted high school volleyball players who are not playing rep volleyball. It will challenge you and help take your game to the next level - without the time commitments of playing rep ball.
How many teams?
There will be a men's and women's division, each division will consist of 54 players, divided into 6 teams of 9 players
When?
Sunday afternoons from March 28th to the end of May 2010
Who are the coaches?
Both divisions will be coached by rep coaches who will work under the direction of Dustin Reid and Wally Dyba , university volleyball coaches (as often as their schedules will permit), who will guide them through techniques used by their university teams. The university coach will design the program and will be in the gym working with the coaches and the players several times throughout the season.
What is the difference between the GTA Premier League and the Rep Teams?
The program curriculum will be exactly the same as the Rep teams as this high performance program will be designed by university coaches and implemented by rep coaches. The players will be rep calibre players. The major differences are that the GTA Premier League is only once per week, where rep teams practise twice per week and players in the GTA Premier League compete against each other and not in OVA tournaments.
We recommend the Rep Teams for those who don't have other
commitments and are willing to travel to tournaments. We
recommend the GTA Premier League to those who have other commitments
but are talented players.
Can Rep Team players join?
In order to give other players an opportunity to receive Rep Team training, Rep Team players for the 2009/2010 season will not be eligible to join the GTA Premier League.
